Search by Title sucks in 4.6

Hey,

Today I was using the search by title in 4.6

I was search for America's Next Top Model (for my wife of course).

So I hit the letter "A" and all of a sudden a "Searching" popup window came up. I proceeded to type in America.

I think hit accept. After a god awful long time, it found nothing.

So I went to the program guide, and saw it there at 10:00PM.

It's pretty useless as I can't find anything anymore.

Is anyone else experiencing similar non-functionality, or should I log a bug report?

I had it happen right after installing 4.6. I manually started a guide download and it worked after that.

It is buggy with partial words. If you typed america, then it will list all titles with the word america in there, but titles that start with america should be at the top. Since it searches real time, it will rearrange the list Best thing to do is type in the title, then wait until it stops doing its thing (a few seconds) then browse through results.

You do want to update the library after installing 4.6, I think they changed the way it looks in the library, meaning they changed the guide library. I know my guide updates are a hell of a lot slower now. After all the tweaks, I thinks search by title is almost as good as it used to be ((not an improvement, but not worse) but search by keyword is a definite improvement.

Based on what you are saying, search by title and keyword are the same then?

Search by Keyword includes a series episode title as well. For example, search for "Miami" and in addition to the long list of CSI:Miami at the top, you'll eventually find a listing for something like "NBA Basketball" and when you look at the episode details, Miami Heat is playing.

During the beta, it seemed like after doing an update install, search didn't work quite right until a full guide update was done, probably because the update sucks down so much more data now (it must, it takes for-freaking-ever to complete).

Hmmm, I've done lots of manual guide downloading and that didn't seem to fix it before...
