Microsoft MCE keyboard with BTV 4.6

I would like to use a Microsoft MCE remote IR keyboard and IR receiver with BTV. The associated computer is a home brew using MS XP, an AMD 32 bit processor and Abit motherboard. 2 GB memory and 750 GB total hard drive space. The keyboard operates BTV with the standard remote functions such as up, down, play, pause, etc, but I can't get the mouse pointer and keyboard keys to work.
Any info on how to accomplish this would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Pretty sure it can't be done. Very limited capabilities with that keyboard in other than MCE. You might try the AVSForum.
