Massive delay when going into Recorded Shows

Having an issue where BeyondTV is hanging when going to Recorded Shows or when exiting the video player.

And when I say delay, it's in the neighbourhood of 15 to 30 seconds.

No loss of functionality otherwise, but it's really annoying if I accidentally play the wrong video.

Anybody else seeing this?

Re: Massive delay when going into Recorded Shows

15 - 30 seconds is much longer than what I experience. I'm closer to 1 or 2 seconds at most.

What BTV version are you using?
How many shows are in your recorded shows folder?

Re: Massive delay when going into Recorded Shows

Around 240 shows, all recorded by BeyondTV, 11 folders being monitored.

BeyondTV 4.6, though it was like this with 4.5 as well.

If I reboot and start BeyondTV, it works a lot better, but if I leave BeyondTV running for a while, the delay gets longer and longer.

Do you have smartskip turned on? Does your cpu spike on some task when this is happening?

SmartSkip?

And the CPU is a bit higher, but not abnormally so (at least nothing spikes in Process Explorer).

Re: Massive delay when going into Recorded Shows

Those delays and the progressive slowdown appear to be normal for 4.5. (I have not installed 4.6 on a machine that does much work.)

I believe that the background tasks tend to tie up the cpu.

Re: Massive delay when going into Recorded Shows

If I restart BeyondTV (including the services), it still has that delay. Restarting the machine is the only way to get things "normal" again.

Re: Massive delay when going into Recorded Shows

I saw something similar. I added a video folder that resides on another computer on my network to my BTV server config, in addition to the local video folder. If the networked computer is off (or in Standby mode), then I see the long delay on the server.

OK, still having the issue - really annoying.

Time for a ticket, I suppose.

shutdown BTV completely, go to this directory and move these 2 files to a backup folder: libraryfolders.xml and libraryfolders.xml.backup and then restart BTV

Moving those two files deleted all folder information in BTV. Even after that, clicking Recorded Shows (which showed nothing) took a second or two.

I'm assuming the directory that you failed to post was %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV

If removing these two files was a solution, then why does rebooting the machine also solve the issue?
