Newbie Channel guide question

Had thought I'd have my BTV up & running by now. But seeing as my Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB 2 was DOA, I'm waiting for them to replace or repair it and return it to me.

So here I sit reading the forum trying to anticipate what problems or questions will arise once I get everything up & running.

One question I've come up with I've not been able to locate any information on. And that is can one modify the Channel guide?

I live in a Condo that has its own Master antenna system. It is similar to cable, but doesn't match any cable service as to what broadcasts on what channel.

If I was to download a local cable schedule from snapstream.net, will I be able to modify the channels? For example, The condo broadcasts A&E on channel 53. The local cable company broadcasts it on channel 35. Is there some way I can tell BTV that I want it to use channel 53 to record whatever show is listed as channel 35?

If BTV can not do this, is there an alternate method to accomplish the same thing?

Appreciate any and all comments & suggestions. TIA

Re: Newbie Channel guide question

If I asked the wrong question in the wrong forum, I'm sorry.

Should I post this question in another forum?

You can't modify the guide data within BTV. What you'd have to do is request a new lineup be created for your building (if there isn't one already).

Really appreciate the reply. Where might I find out how to make such a request?

Again, Thanks.

I'm not sure who Snapstream uses for their guide data. I assume that if you created a support ticket and provided them with all of the details that they'd take care of it. If you don't get a response within a few days then I'd recommend sending a PM to one of the Snapstream techs that visit the forums now and then (you can tell by their signatures that they are staff).
