Question Convert DVD to AVI's That Beyond TV Will Play

I have been trying for days to find a program that will create AVI's from NON-copyrighted DVD's that Beyond TV will play. I have tried many programs with the following results:

1) The AVI plays in Beyond TV but the video is not in synch with the audio.

2) The AVI plays great in Windows Media player but Beyond TV says the file is corrupt.

I'm ready to purchase a program for this purpose if someone knows of one that works.

Re: Convert DVD to AVI's That Beyond TV Will Play

I have tried this program. I remember it was kinda slow. I don't remember the playback issue that I had. I am using it now to create an AVI to see how it does.

Thx,
imnee.

I don't see where the "hacked" version is available by torrent any more though. Would like to try it.

Re: Convert DVD to AVI's That Beyond TV Will Play

Huh. I've had problems getting BTV to play a couple download divx files but it is relatively rare.

BTV uses Divx v5 and not the latest v6 so there are a few features that aren't supported (subtitles on playback would sure be nice). I converted quite a few DVD's using AutoGK. I always select the mode that would allow the video to play in a standalone DVD player with divx support (they call it 'home theater' mode). That mode sets a number of encoding parameters that are very well supported since it has been around for a while.

The divx.dll file in the Beyond TV directory says v5.2. On the other hand there is a file called divx6enc.ax, so there seems to be some discrepancy there.

I have downloaded the hacked version and converted vob file to an avi file. It looks like you have to select each vob file and convert it to individual avi files???? The link to download is below.
