Chris Tweak and Haupauge Tweak tool

I have been playing around with these tools and was just wondering if these programs need to be running for the settings to be effective or if you canjust change the settings, apply and exit?

I dont know about "Chris" tweak, but the Hauppauge Tweak Tool you can just save the changes and exit. Works good for me. You'll need to restart BTV for it to recognize the changes.

(no need to reboot the PC or windows though)

As CT has a "Start with Windows" and monitor folder option I'd say it was designed to be running...that's how I had mine setup when I used it. But you could always ask the author directly.

Re: Chris Tweak and Haupauge Tweak tool

I want to increase my record volume. I have a Hauppauge 150. I ran the Hauppauge Tweak Tool but am confused. Do I increase the tuner, the line in volume, or the Gain?

I'm willing to experiment but any help is appreciated.

Re: Chris Tweak and Haupauge Tweak tool

I havent tried this yet, but if you have AGC (Automatic Gain Control) turned on then you can probably just increase the AGC Target Level. If not, then the Tuner volume should do the trick.

If I remember right, AGC tries to keep volume within a certain range to help cut down the annoyance from LOUD commercials, etc.

You are right though the hauppauge has pretty low volume, so i will try this one myself.
