Wink Transporting recorded files w/o network

Greetings,
Just setup my old BTV card and recorded a test from a live video source. My BTV is saving to a MPG file format. I copied the MPG file to a CD and put it on a laptop to try and play it for someone and Windows Media Player gives an error right after saying CODEC AQUIRED. What should I do to play my recoded files on another computer without having to use BTV-LINK and having a network.

Dave

It is not a good thing to post the same message multiple times, you will not get an answer any faster and most people get annoyed and won't reply to any of them.

The answer to your question is in the question itself, you need the correct CODEC. In order for a computer to play a video file they need a way to decode and play the file, this needed item is called a codec. The best way is to do a search on the Internet for MPEG-2 & CODEC and it should give you some ideas.

Thanks
Mike

I answer your other post, then I see your double posting. I'm annoyed now.

Go download the XP Codec Pack. Search for it on Google. Its free and it will solve this problem.
