wireless keyboard reccomendations

Hi there...

Does anyone have any good reccomendations for a wireless keyboard and mouse combo? I need one with enough range to reach accross my family room which is about 18 feet. Also I would prefer one that doesn't gobble up batteries.

Thanks for any and all help.

Rich

Re: wireless keyboard reccomendations

My personal favorite is the Belkin Mediapilot. It's RF, so the range is good. Built in 'mouse' so nothing extra to deal with.

The nicest thing, for me, is that it has a recharging 'dock'. No batteries to worry about.

The coolest feature is the it has a built-in learning IR remote, so you can train your TV remote, etc. and not have to deal with them either.

Oh sure. It's just an added feature. Ignore it if you want.

I use a Keyboard and mouse from Gyration .. the mouse has a tiny gyroscope in it, so you can mouse in the air. Both keyboard and mouse were designed to be used in a presentation environment, so the range is greater than more common wireless desktops (like Logitech).

The Gyration keyboard and mouse is AWESOME! Very long range keyboard and mouse. My mouse is rechargeable and the keyboard lasts months on a set of batteries.

Re: wireless keyboard reccomendations

Just wanted to add that I tried the various wireless keyboards at walmart without reading any reviews, and they only had like 5 feet of range, which seems pointless to me. Why buy wireless when it's just sitting on your desk anyway?

Don't buy one from walmart....

I own the BTV 9019urf that is talked about in detail here. It has great range (I use it across a very large room) and works well.

Re: wireless keyboard reccomendations

I also recommend the Gyration although occasionally it misses key presses on the keyboard.

Re: wireless keyboard reccomendations

I use the Adesso wireless keyboard/touch pad combo. Very small and works great across the room (HTPC is in the closet). I get about 15 foot range.
