And this has to do with BTV or Link in which way?

Please post in the correct Forums.

Thanks

Re: Cablebox resolution

Because I'm running my cablebox to my Hauppauge Pvr-150 and using BTV to watch it.

Re: Cablebox resolution

Your cable box can only connect to your 150 via svideo out. You have to adjust your video card to the required resolution for your monitor. What video card and what is your monitor's native resolution?

Re: Cablebox resolution

I connected my cable box via coaxial. I set my native resolution at 1680x1050. I have a Geforce 6800XT. I wanted to set my cable box for the best possible picture quality to work with my setup in BTV.

Re: Cablebox resolution

If you connect your cable box via coax, are you leaving BTV set on ch 3 all the time and changing channels with the STB?

Re: Cablebox resolution

That's not the best way to connect it. You'll get the highest quality with S-video, although it will still be very low quality (720x480) compared to your monitor

I connected it via Coax because the box is about 30 somewhat feet away from my PC.

I take it that the settings on the box don't affect my setup in BTV?

Re: Cablebox resolution

Just to clarify, the box resolution settings do NOT affect my setup?

Re: Cablebox resolution

Nope. Your getting 720x480 at best -- 480i.
