Left side of screen

I have a problem where the left side of the displayed picture falls slightly short of my WS monitor. This seems to be happening with all the codecs I have tried. Weird thing is that when I change the aspect ratio to lets say, 16:9 or stretch, it fills the screen, but slowly recedes from the left. Any fix for this? I have a feeling it may be coming from my cablebox b/c the banner fills the screen (i.e. chanel change indicator).

Re: Left side of screen

That is weird. You might try capturing the TV via coax cable to see if the same thing happens. Try to determine if it is a capture card problem or the cable box.

Re: Left side of screen

Just tested it on my standard TV via coax. My tuner card is also fed via coax. I'm thinking that my WS monitor is just displaying what is not supposed to be displayed and what isnormally cut off on a regular TV. I just hope that when I burn a DVD, it doesn't show this way on my TV.

Re: Left side of screen

I have a black area on the left of my screen too. It is only a small sliver, so it isn't too bad. But what I find interesting is, it only happens to me in "Letterbox" mode (I use this so that widescreen channels look better in terms of aspect).

Heres the kicker... I notice it doesnt happen on every channel. Only some such as Discovery + History!

Probably just something about they way they're broadcasting it, rather than a problem with the Tuner card or BTV.

At any rate, for me, it's totally bearable. The least of my concerns right now.
