in case anyone is curious about trans/burn speed with the dvd burn feature

i just burned my first file..a movie file that had to be transcoded to fit as part of the process. i have a dual core intel 6400 by the way with 1 gig of ram. the whole process of transcoding/burning took about 50 minutes for a 6.6 gig file. i'm quite happy with that given the first add on program i had to do transcoding/burn 2 years ago took 2 to 3 hours for same size file.

Re: in case anyone is curious about trans/burn speed with the dvd burn feature

I just did my first one too. Original was only 2% over cap and MTV Burn said it would be transcoded to lower format. The whole process took about 20 minutes!!

INFO Original was recorded in standard DVD qualiity (BTV). Machine is Athlon XP 3200 Barton; Raid 0 Raptor 74G; 1G Corsair TWINX Ram. This is my gaming rig .

Probably the Raptors in RAID 0 have a lot to do with speed. Reading data is very fast.
