Record future shows..

I watch alot of shows on The Discovery channel and I missed one show that I would like to watch. I didn't know it was even coming on.

So is it possible to have BTV create a "watch" list for future shows? I know exact title and channel so could be a matter of programming BTV to record it when it when they decide to air it again.

One way I could get around this is change the clock on the PC to a few hours back so I can trick BTV to record it as "all episodes" so when Discovery channel decides to air it again BTV will record it.

I wasn't able to set it to record it because it said it already aired and no further dates available.

Re: Record future shows..

I have never tried to record something that showed no future airings. Very good question.

Re: Record future shows..

Take a look at BTV-Negociator (link in my signature), you can define various searches and have the results schedulled for recording if you wish to...

Re: Record future shows..

One option is to go to your Snapstream.net account and do a search for it. If no listing comes up, then save that search as a "favorite". Any time from that point on, if the show shows up in a future grid, you will get an EMAIL sent to you notifying you that it's coming up.

I think it'll look something like 7 or 9 days ahead. It's not as elegant as having BTV do it from within the application, but I have used it myself and it works just fine.

I was looking for a movie quite some time ago, and entered it as a favorite search, and then after a few months completely forgot about it. Then several months later, out of the blue, I got an email telling me the movie was going to air that week on the Turner Classic Movies channel. I was surprised and delighted because I had forgotten all about it.

Lucky you. I've got numerous searches set up, and got ONE email over the past year. Saw after the fact that several of the movies had been on, and ss.net never caught it. Grrr. This problem has been discussed in the Troubleshooting forum.

Well, that service was down for a while until someone from SnapStream looked into it and kick started it again or something, a few weeks (months?) ago...

I think it was up for a week and it must be down since. I'm still not getting any notifications
