Why are Envy24's a problem?
Thank you SnapStream for the point releases with bug fixes, but I don't understand why this one still exists. As I understand, the Via drivers are WHQL certified. Does that mean it meets Microsoft standards for a Windows compliant driver? Wouldn't a bugged driver fail to receive WHQL certification? Also, I use several apps which use audio, but only BTV exhibits this quirk.

Re: Why are Envy24's a problem?
Even with WHQL certification -- it doesn't matter at All -- drivers can still have problems.
As was stated already -- the issue Is with the drivers -- and will be -- until the time it is fixed (no time soon -- Thanks Via!) If there was a Resolution to it -- I'd certainly like to hear -- since I also run a lovely Envy audio card.

Re: Why are Envy24's a problem?
As I remember, the Envy actually uses two different chips, does it not?
Here's what I picked up at a CompUSA for 30 bucks: http://www.turtle-beach.com/site/pro...udioadv/micro/ I was surprised, it works great for me, it allowed me to add Optical out cheaply to my system.
