Guide info becoming increasingly unreliable

Is it just me or is the guide data becoming more unreliable lately.

The power of a good PVR is it's ability to manage your future recordings. Without reliable guide data this feature is useless.

I have noticed in the past few weeks that I need to spend an increasing amount of time managing my shows manually because the software is unable, because of external factors, to do it correctly.

I fully realize that the data we receive comes from "service providers". Unfortunately, if this situation is not dealt with, it's SS who will end up suffering in the long run.

Two examples from this past week. Canadian Idol wasn't even going to be recorded this week untill someone mentioned it here and I manually fixed it.
Now, The Amazing Race 10 is conflicting with itself on Sept. 10th. It's trying to record each and every episode that night except most are conflicting with each other, and, if left alone, will record the same show 4 times that night. even manually fixing it you have to go through each and every one and say don't record. I tried numerous configuration (all, new etc, 1 channel, all channels etc,)

I could just select one channel but then I lose the conflict managing feature of the "any channel" option.

Bottom line, you better pay attention to your scheduling because you could end up missing a favorite show.

I realize that SS is only passing on the info but something needs to happen. I'm sure this is happening to the other PVR solutions out there, unless they are getting their data from another source?????

Don't crucify me for this next statement, just think about it.........
If I was guaranteed 97% accuracy with the guide data, I'd be willing to pay a small yearly subscription fee. By small I mean under 20/year.

The PVR/DVR revolution is upon us, in order for these devices/softwares to work as they were intended, the guide data needs to be more reliable, not to mention the ability to have a reliable download mechanism.
