Re: Mac (MacBook Pro) BTV Link

How did you get the video to play back? I have a 17" MacBook Pro running Parallels I get a DirectX SDK error and it plays in "software mode" the video is VERY choppy. Can you post any tips?

Here are my settings:

XP, Normal Acceleration, 512 MB Ram, 7500 MB HDD. Im running wired ethernet, but i think wireless is just as good. Also, upgrade parallels to the latest version. I have build 1898.

Attached are the error messages i get. at first it runs slow but after entering a password and entering the menu, its faster than my btv server!

Re: Mac (MacBook Pro) BTV Link

How did you even get BTV link to work? I tried this and it keeps telling me there's no BTV servers present.

Re: Mac (MacBook Pro) BTV Link

Make sure:

#1 Your Network Settings are correct

#2 You are on the same network (mine is on the same wired lan. If i go on wireless to my AP, i can see it, but on another ap i cant.)

See my pics, hope it helps. if not, post some more info.

Re: Mac (MacBook Pro) BTV Link

I fixed the problem, my btv server is hooked to a wrt54g used as a wds repeater. If I hard-wire my macbook pro to the same wrt54g it works, if I do wireless it doesn't work.

Re: Mac (MacBook Pro) BTV Link

interesting. May be a problem with parallels using your wireless connection?

Re: Mac (MacBook Pro) BTV Link

Nah, parallels works fine with my wireless setup. I use it for a few hours a day for both Outlook/Exchange communication and Quickbooks. I think BTV just has a linking problem over wireless. Maybe a latency issue?
