Disk Spanning in Windows XP Home

Does anyone know if disk spanning is possible in Windows XP Home? I have read mixed reviews on this...thanks

Spanning is part of using a drive setup as a Dynamic Disk (versus a Basic disk).

From Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309044/): "Dynamic disks are not supported on portable computers or Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition."

that sucks...is there an alternative approach to this? I want to sum drives together...not RAID of course
