Intergration of Time Synchronization

Would anyone else like to see SnapStream software able to Time Synchronize with the SnapStream servers?

I would love to see this as a feature in a future release. Every now and again I will find my PC's clock off just a few minutes. If you are recording a show and have a 1-3 minute pad (typically I use 2 or 3 minutes), when your system clock sometimes is off by as much as 5 minutes, you can end up missing the very begining of a show.

Now, my PC is usually good about keeping time, but for some reason about every other month, it decides to lose a few minutes of time and needs to be set properly. For this I have been using Karen's Time Sync http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptsync.asp to make sure my PC's clock is always set to the correct time, before finding out that it's off by missing the first few minutes of a recorded program. Another good program I've seen is PC Atomic Sync http://www.brigsoft.com/.

Although this Time Syncchronization software has solved my problem, I would love to see a similiar feature added to BeyondTV, so it could maintain an unstable system clock, like mine! It would be nice to have BeyondTV do a quick check perhaps 10-15 minutes before recording a show just to make sure your clock is set correctly, and adjust it accordingly if it's not.

Was jus wondering if anyone else has had a similiar problem with their system clock and wouldn't mind seeing this feature as well.

Re: Intergration of Time Synchronization

Windows 2000 and XP already have built in NTP time synchronization abilities.

Check out this pdf for how to configure Windows 2000 and XP to use the NIST time servers:

Instructions from Microsoft on how to change the update interval of the built in time service:
