MediaMVP licensing with BTV

I'm splitting this discussion from this thread as it was going off-topic. I'm curious about the licensing scheme around the use of the MediaMVP device with BTV.

According to bnflaherty's comment:

The MVP becomes a Link client -- Thus requires the license.

If you are just using the MVP with it's server app -- then its not.

So the MediaMVP can be used directly with BTV without the use of the server software (since you mention it can be a Link client)? Can I watch liveTV this way?

If I purchase this unit from the SS store, does it come with a Link license or is it a seperate purchase?

Link is separate -- but you must use the Plugin to get the device to work correctly... to be Like Link...
