Channel Change, Then Start Recording

On my recordings I can see the channel changing. Is there a setting that I can set to have recordings start 5 seconds after the channel changes?

Re: Channel Change, Then Start Recording

would it be possible to arrange for a custom channel changer plugin that blocks for a few seconds before returning control to the app?

Re: Channel Change, Then Start Recording

That's a fairly new thing with BTV -- it started doing that (and annoying me) just a few versions ago. I think it looks shabby and unprofessional to record the channel change and hope it gets changed so that it no longer shows it.

Re: Channel Change, Then Start Recording

is this Only with recordings?

I just browsed around -- using my setup -- and I cannot reproduce that...

In LiveTV anyway... which -- really ... isn't any different than a recording.

Re: Channel Change, Then Start Recording

Yes, this would only be for recordings. The recording starts before the channel is changed (only like 1-2 seconds) and you can see the channel changed.

If you are watching LiveTV you would expect to see the channel change

Re: Channel Change, Then Start Recording

I pad everything by 2 min so If I'm putting stuff to DVD then this is not an issue.

Persoanlly I like it the way it is. The chan change from the Sat menu bar shows for a couple seconds. This is good. I know right away before the show starts that the sat got changed properly.

I vote to leave it the way it is. I'd rather record more then I need over recording less then the full show.

I think that I also see this in live TV. When I change channels, there is a slight pause/freeze, then I see a repeat of the the last seconds of the previous show followed by the new show. Those last couple of seconds seem to be "part" of the new show/recording. I could have sworn that I submitted a bug report for this, but I can't seem to find it

Re: Channel Change, Then Start Recording

Yes it shows in live tv or recorded programs. It does appear to start recording and then change the channel on the STB.

No biggie to me. Pad the recording by a minute or 2 and edit the start if you are putting it on DVD.
