Live TV for Media MVP and BTV 4.x?

I have not had any version of BTV prior to version 4, but I would really like to watch a recording while it is still being written, and watch it via Media MVP. Should I even attempt to use the skin that some (very kind and smart) developers have created for Media MVP? The skin was developed for BTV 3.5. I don't know if that means it flat out will not work with BTV4.

Thanks

Steve

P.S.

I would like to point out to those who might not know, the picture quality of Media MVP is excellent. I'm not doing HD, just regular cable. The picture is barely acceptable to me using the S-Video out of my graphics card. But the image is smooth, the colors are bright and have punch, and the image is clear with the Media MVP I'm very happy with it - Except it's going to drive me crazy if I can't watch a show that is still in the process of being recorded.

Re: Live TV for Media MVP and BTV 4.x?

i did this before i moved on to hdtv and sold my mediamvp boxes....what you need to do now is 'unhide' the files that are being recorded...that is the only difference.

i run the following windows script hourly (at 1 min past the hour)

(file unhide.bat...set up for my file directory)
this 'unhides' all mpg and tp files...not elegant but it works

d:
cd media
cd "new shows"
attrib -H *.mpg
attrib -H *.tp
cd ..
cd "new shows-peri"
attrib -H *.mpg
exit

Hey Cat6, thanks for the tip. I set myself up with a little batch file and can run it with the Firefly remote as needed. Works great.

Can you walk me through that process, it's been a while since I've worked with bat files. Last time I overwrote the OS, that was prior to windows.
