audio clipping

I have pvr150 card. beyond tv version 4 build 2811. I am experiencing audio clipping. Is there a way to turn down input audio? I had this card in a 1.8ghz and now it is in 3ghz both had 1gig ram had clipping in both.

Can you provide a little more description on what you are hearing ? (or not hearing)

volume cuts in and out. video works great. I find if the show is quiet it is not so bad, but if there is music or applause it is awful. almost sounds like its is skipping this happens in live tv or recording. every once in a while it is OK. I changed PCI slots and still the same. I tried adjust volume on record and no help. changed coax to better, shorter cable and that did nothing either. Cable comes right from wall, no cable box.

Can you determine if the clipping is in the recording or a playback issue with your sound card - does the recording play back the same way on another computer ?

What driver are you using for the 150 ?

It plays back the same on other computers as well. I have the most recent driver for the pvr150. Its seems to be OK on some channels, most local are bad. NBC is just a mess, Audio is in sync with video, but clipping. If it sounds bad on Live TV, it records the same way. My old machine had sound blaster audigy platinum, this one has integrated sound. Thought maybe it was the old sound card, but apparently not the case. Is it possible device volume needs to be adjusted somewhere in config file or in registry?

If it is in the recording, then maybe you need to try different drivers for the 150. Have you tried the driver from the Snapstream download page ?

download and installed drivers from link. It is still clipping just as bad.

Maybe it is the card. Can you try and record something with WinTV2000 to see if it has the same issues ?

Same thing with WINTV2000. Live TV clips and so does the recording.

Then it looks like you have an issue with the tuner. Is it still under warranty ?

I'm assuming that if you connect that cable directly to the TV that there are no sound issues ?

I think its fixed!! As of a result of going to hauppauge's site to download WINTV2000, I found a more up to date driver. tested for about hour and sounds fine. Hope this fixed issue. Thanks for help nanook105
