Transparent Guide Not Working

The transparent guide and program information box stopped working on my btv box today. I don't remember making any modifications in windows or btv.

I have a geforce 6600gt and an AMD 64x2 dual core processor 3800+. I have btv version 4.2.0 installed. In the plabyack settings video renderer I have "3d accelerated" selected and deinterlacing set to "hardware". Does anyone have any ideas?

what steps have you taken to try to fix the problem?

I just updated the video drivers to the latest and version. I tried re-installing the 4.2.0 btv patch but it wouldn't install over my current version. I also talked to a friend that has a btv box and verified that all of my settings match his and that he could see the transparent guide.

I've been there several times. Take your pick:

Use 3D video render in the playback settings.

Turn on hardware acceleration. rightclick desktop->properties->settings->advanced->troubleshoot

Test 3D with dxdiag. run...dxdiag
