adding a second tuner

Ok so I have a old hauppauge tv tuner and it works....
however I also have a pinnacle tuner.. would like to add it so I can record a show and watch tv on another...

is it that simple?
just add card, load drivers and choose under recording settings the pinnacle card to record with?

Add card, load drivers, run BTV setup wizard.

but what about the line from the tuner to the sound card???? if you add 4 tuners does that mean you need 4 sound cards?

I think that is what is confusing me....

Re: adding a second tuner

Most (if not all) modern tuners have built in audio, so you just connect the coax to the tuner and get video/audio

Are you saying that both of your tuners are the old type and have an audio cable from the tuner to the sound card?

Hmmmmm! Not sure but I think that you run one card to the line in of your sound card and the other to the mic in. Then when you set up the cards choose the appropriate sound input. I used to have an old ATI TV wonder and an AIW with the sound cables and I'm pretty sure thats what I did, but not positive (my kids call it "ol'timers" disease). Also I am not sure if you can record on both at the same time. It can't hurt to try. Let us know. Maybe someone else can help.

Re: adding a second tuner

Keep in mind that BTV does not support multiple SW encoder card configurations. Also make sure your machine specs are high enough to run two SW cards at once.
