DVICO FusionHDTV Gold USB with the VIA motherboard chipset?

Has anyone used the DVICO FusionHDTV Gold USB with the VIA motherboard chipset?

The reason that I ask is that I have a Shuttle SK41G PC Case (1 PCI slot). I have a WinTV PVR250 internal tuner and a WinTV PVR-USB2 external tuner. I went through the dreaded 'VIA' USB2 crashing issues with my current WinTV PVR-USB2. After installing the VIA USB Hotfix Patch, updating Hauppauge drivers, and plugging my tuner into a rear USB port, I have eventually got my USB tuner working consistent and stable.

My concern is with adding a DVICO FusionHDTV Gold USB tuner to my HTPC. Will the increased USB bandwidth for HDTV cause me any problems? What about when my WinTV PVR-USB2 and the DVICO FusionHDTV Gold USB are recording at the same time?

I really want to buy a DVICO FusionHDTV Gold USB tuner. I Just thought I'd see if anyone had any thoughts on this....

Re: DVICO FusionHDTV Gold USB with the VIA motherboard chipset?

No experience with DVICO USB, but I had a horrible experience with DVICO Fusion Lite and an ABIT VT7 motherboard (which uses a via chipset). Eventually I replaced the Mobo by an ASUS (see my sig) and HD recording and playback is working flawlessly after that.

I have a via KT333 and the dvico fusion 5 USB, it works fine for me. My board is the ASUS a7v8x-x budget board.

Re: DVICO FusionHDTV Gold USB with the VIA motherboard chipset?

mv-clear,

Is the dvico fusion 5 USB relatively stable with your motherboard (i.e. no lockups, split recorded files, etc)? Do you have other tuners on your machine? If so, how well does your dvico fusion 5 USB work when another tuner is also recording?

Any info is greatly appreciated....
