Media MVP, Show Center, etc

I need a way to play snapstream recordings on my television - unfortunately, hooking a computer up to my home theater is not an option.
I've searched through these forums a bit and the Media MVP is a device I keep seeing over and over... so I assume that is the product of choice for most snapstream users in this sort of situation.

However, taking a brief look around the net (amazon, newegg, etc), it looks like that product is out of stock almost everywhere. Does anyone know why this might be the case?

The other day, I was browsing through a local electronics store and came across the Pinnacle Show Center 1000g, which looked interesting. Searching through these forums, there were only three threads which mentioned it, so I don't know how viable an option it really is.

So I guess my question is whether anyone knows of any happening with the media mvp line - and is anyone using the Show Center? Are you happy with it, etc?

The brief searching I've done so far seems to indicate that most of these networked media devices fall short in one way or another. I guess I'm just looking for the best option currently out there.

Thanks.

Re: Media MVP, Show Center, etc

i used to have a couple of mediamvp but sold them as they cannot handle
either hdtv programs or hdmi connections to my hdtv.

i now have a jvc srdvd-100u (basically an iodata lp2 + dvi output) and a zensonic z500 (only available in australia for now, but should be more generally available by end of march i'm told).

both include DVD players that can play back dvds as well as video mpg and divx and lots of other formats.......

at this point, the z500 is my favorite.

i've heard nothing about a next gen mediamvp though.........i basically consider the original to be obsolete technology but if you don't need hdtv or a high quality output to your tv set, they are pretty inexpensive.

Re: Media MVP, Show Center, etc

The wireless MVP is due out the end of this month. It has already been delayed and may get delayed again. When it is released it will certainly cost more than the current model ($99 retail) I just ordered an MVP from sears.com, it's supposed to be in store Wednesday - we will see. I've seen a few on fleebay but they are going for over $75. For that price I'd rather get it directly from a trusted retailer. I tried to get one from SageTV figuring I could resell the license that came with it, but they are all sold out.

I like the MVP a lot. I got the first from cat6man (thanks mucho - I should have bought the two of them when I had the chance!) and it is running flawlessly. It does not do HD (and probably never will) but for SD TV it is great; completely silent, small, cheap, easy to use .... and it produces a high WAF.
