Feature Request

I wonder if it would be possible to allow users to manually rename the TV tuner device.

This is why. In the "Setup Recordings > Recording Settings and Priorities > View and Edit Details", we have the ability to choose "Any" or any one of the specific tuners available (users who have multiple tuners of course).

I have more than one Hauppauge tuner. But I can't tell which tuner I"m selecting because the GUI field is too small to display the whole tuner name. It only shows "Standard Cable - Hauppau...". I'd like to be able to tell which of the possibly 2 or more PVR-x50s I'm choosing. In the main BTV setup they are labeled in detail so you know which tuner is which.

This would be of great use to some of us. In my case I have a cable channel that is of poor quality and I have enabled a third party software to adjust the capture video parameters for one of my three tuners. I don't want to make the adjustments for all the tuners as there is only a few channels that need the "tweaking". So when ever I want to record those channels that need tweaking, I want to specify which tuner to use.

If I could rename the tuners like STD CBL Haup #1, STD CBL Haup #2 and so on, it would really make things easier. Right now I have to pick an "average" adjustment and set it for all tuners which affects all shows instead of being able to selectively choose which tuner to use with which show.

Well I guess we CAN choose which tuner now .. but because their full names are truncated we can't tell which is which if we have several of the same type.

Re: Feature Request

I renamed the tuners in the web admin to "tuner 1" and "tuner 2" for just this reason.
