Red face Audio static/noise on playback

Hello everyone,
I'm running Beyond TV 4.1 with a Hauppage PVR 150 and audio from a line out splitter (composibe cables) to my receiver.

For all snapstream records (from TV) playback of both video and audio is fine.

However I'm having a problem with the playback of some but not all my stored video content. Whenever I play certain avi's or mpgs through Beyond TV the accompanying audio is a loud static sound.

If I play the same files through my Xbox (via XBMC) or using VLC, the audio for these files is fine. I suspect the problem is the "Snapstream Audio Decoder" but unlike the Video decoder which can be changed, I don't see any information on how to find an alternate audio decoder.

Does anyone have advice in this area, or suggestions as to why audio playback on some video files might be filled with static during BTV playback?

Re: Audio static/noise on playback

If your receiver supports SP/DIF you might try that instead; most folk here seem to prefer it. As for decoders, you should have both a SS SP and an SP Basic to choose from...might try the Basic.

Re: Audio static/noise on playback

SPDIF unfortunately does not solve the problem although the audio that does work is clearly improved. I'm fairly sure at this point that there is a bug in the audio decoder for Beyond TV as the files play perfectly fine using other software (VLC Media Player).
