Recorded Shows missing from recorded show listings
I have noticed something wierd lately as my saved shows library has grown. When I pull up either the BeyondTV Viewscape or the Web Interface, all the recorded shows do not appera. However when you go to the directory where the shows are stored, the shows exist with corresponding XML files.
I can open the files with Windows Media Player and they play fine, so I know they aren't corrupted in any way. Has anyone come across this problem before? I am running Beyond TV 4.1.0 and storing the jobs on my local hard drive then Showsqueezing them to a NAS device connected with a GB LAN connection.

Re: Recorded Shows missing from recorded show listings
This is a well-known BTV/Windows bug. You have to shut down BTV and restart it to get them to show up.
It works best if you do NOT use a drive letter, but use a UNC to get to the network drive: \\servername\directory Tom |

Re: Recorded Shows missing from recorded show listings
Thanks Tom. I had forgotten that about the Drive Sharing. Now that you mention it, I remember reading about it in the forum before.
Thanks again!

Re: Recorded Shows missing from recorded show listings
Even with the drive share name being used instead of the drive letter, the problem still happens.
After I stop BTV then start it again, the shows appear again. What makes no sense is that some if not most of the shows are read from the directory. What is causing BTV not to get the entire list of files with the xml information intact in the directory?

Re: Recorded Shows missing from recorded show listings
I also suffer from this.
It is incredibly annoyoing! I sometimes have to restart the pc! And when I restart the pc the tv image is zoomed to point where 50% of the actual transmitted image occupies 100% of the screen. So after I reboot the pc, I need to start BTV, launch the TV, then exit BTV and finally restart BTV to get 100% of the transmitted image to fit on 100% of the screen. |

Re: Recorded Shows missing from recorded show listings
i have the same issue. I have a network server and it happens (no new listings) either with a mapped drive (Z
or direct (\\home\videos). I read somewhere that this is being fixed in an upcoming version, but......This is a huge issue since a network drive is key if you want to record a lot of shows, especially in HD! and not have to worry about the drive filling up. please fix this (and give us the ipod video showsqueeze too!) thanks. p. |

Re: Recorded Shows missing from recorded show listings
I am sharing the files off of a Buffalo Linkstation NAS device. There are no power saving features turned on.
If I go to Windows Explorer the drive share and files are there. When I open BTV, they aren't. I restart BTV and they come in. I am guessing BTV only gets the files on the shared drive once the program is loaded and does not scan again unless restarted.

Re: Recorded Shows missing from recorded show listings
Do you use network shares? Just search the forums. It is documented by MANY users as a problem. I certainly see it regularly, particularly if I use a mapped drive. It is inconsistent, which just means bad BTV code.

Re: Recorded Shows missing from recorded show listings
Let me explain my config a little better
Router (D-Link Gamerlounge) 3 - 8 Port Trendnet GB Switches 3 BTV Servers 1 NAS Server (FreeNas) All BTV Servers record Locally Server A Records to TV Shows A Server B records to TV Shows B Server C Records to TV Shows C The NAS Server is used for shows that I want to keep long term, or shows that we haven't gotten to (to free up space on the recording drives). I move shows between the BTV Servers and the NAS Servers all the time, and they continue to show up in recorded shows. (I believe that if you look at the log the are removed and then added back) Server A has the following folders D:\TV Shows A \\Server B\TV Shows B \\Server C\TV Shows C \\NAS Server\TV Shows Server B has the following folders D:\TV Shows B \\Server B\TV Shows A \\Server C\TV Shows C \\NAS Server\TV Shows Server C has the following folders D:\TV Shows C \\Server B\TV Shows A \\Server C\TV Shows B \\NAS Server\TV Shows So, when Server A records a show, it also shows up in Recorded Shows on Server B and Server C. Additionally, while it is recording, it shows up with the red recording dot on all three servers I almost never reboot any of these systems, so it can't be related to reboots for me either. Is there some other BTV related activity that I'm not doing/seeing ? I'd like to see if I can help replicate this
