Is slo-mo ever gonna come to BTV?

Is it in the works at all? I've seen plenty of posters asking for it...

Re: Is slo-mo ever gonna come to BTV?

Thank you.

I also have one thing that is bothering me. When you are on the Recorded Shows list, you can sort by Date or by Show, right? I regularly switch back and forth. BTV doesn't highlight the right thing after switching.

Say you have it sorted by date and you have "Friends" highlighted. Then when you sort by Show, it highlights some seemingly random thing (and it always seems like a long scroll to get back ....arg). Why can't Friends continue to be highlighted when you switch back and forth between views?

Re: Is slo-mo ever gonna come to BTV?

You mean switching between all / by series or by folder views? there is no sort by data/show option that I'm aware of?

Switching between views does not guarantee the same item will exist in the new view so you can't maintain the same highlight continuously; however, it could remember what you had selected for that last view and return to that. That isn't always going to be what people want though. For example, I don't have a use case where I want to track a show through each view mode. I change the 'view' only when I'm looking for something different /specific. In these cases I want the view to 'reset' when I change view.

I suspect there are several different use cases - which one do you choose to implement ... ?

As to slow mo.... I doubt it's on BTV's to do list..

Yes, I used the wrong terminology but the "all" view is sorted by date.

I don't understand why switching between views it can't continue to highlight the same object. I don't have the view by folder view presumably because I am only using one folder for everything. Regardless if viewing by All or by Series, any given show should appear in either view, right? How can a show not appear since either view displays "all" shows anyway.

All I want is some intuitive way it choses to highlight when switching between views. Right now it is seemingly random.

If switching between All to Folder and a given show does NOT appear, it should either go to the top of the list (which it doesn't) or even better it should find the next best thing (alphabetically speaking).

Right now, it appears to do it by location on the list. If I'm 1/3 the way down the list when viewed by "all" and then switch to "series" it seems to roughly highlight the list about a 1/3 the way down. Unfortunately this yields a completely nonintuitive result everytime.

If BTV can't retain "highlight a show that starts with F" then it should simply default back to the top of the list, IMO. At least that is predictable.

regardless of switching, does anyone know if slo-mo is in the works at all?

It's a pain trying to rapidly hit the pause button if you want to slow down a replay in a game or something.

See Merrypig's initial response above. I don't know who he/she is but he/she says it is doubtful...which is disappointing.

Adding slo-mo is a big feature request. My stupid switching problem is a pretty small feature request.

Well, I'm not affiliated with SS - so you shouldn't take my word as definitive; I've just never seen SS discuss slow motion on any forum /blog/faq. Sorry

Just find the power outlet in your room controlled by a wall switch, plug your computer into that outlet, and install a dimmer.

When you want slow motion, just turn the dimmer down. The computer will run at a speed relative to the position of the dimmer.

Brilliant. Somebody at KFC's ad company was thinking.
