Possible to start recording before your start point?

Does anybody know of a way to start recording before the point that you actually started?

For example,
You start watching TV casually at 1pm. At 1:15pm, you realized, it would be a great idea to record, so you press record. Even though you might have a 30min buffer, BTV doesn't start recording at 1pm, but instead at 1:15 where you actually pressed record. Is it possible to also save the 1pm - 1:15pm? BTV already has it in cashe (or buffer) for BTV.

I've already tried doing a search and didn't come up with anything.
