How do I reduce the recording volume (BTV 3.5.2)?

I'm running:

Version 3.5.2 (Build 2006)

The recording volume is too high and there's some distortion. How do I reduce it? I tried changing the level in the Windows Volume Control tool but it doesn't seem to help.

Thanks...

If you are using a Hauppauge capture card to do your recordings then download the tweak tool at the following site:

http://www.cask-of-amontillado.com/pvr_tweak.html

It will let you adjust volumes, video sharpness, etc for hauppauge card recordings.

I'm not using Hauppauge on this computer. It's for recording/streaming via WMV.

Is your source a cable/satellite box ? If so, try adjusting the volume on the box.

Hi Nanook,

My source is a DirecTV receiver which does not have volume controls.

Thanks...
