I just thought I'd post this note about an awesome recording experience I had the other day. ESPN2 was running 9 1/2 hours of poker that I wanted to record. It started with a 3 hour "WSOP Tournament of Champions" followed by 6 consecutive 1 hour episodes of "WSOP main event" followed by a 1/2 hour "WSOP the best hand I ever played. This spanned from 4:00pm until 1:30am the next morning. I set my quality down from my normal 8000kbps to 4000kbps because I didn't necessarily need any high quality recording. I have my padding set to 1 minute before and after. I set up all of my recordings and left it for the night. Needless to say I was very impressed when ALL of my recordings were complete 100% with padding and everything. I just wanted to let everyone know about the success you can have with BTV since people seem to be having some trouble with BTV4 and yes I am using BTV4. Here are the specs of my system:
3.2GHz P4 with 1GB ram. 1 60GB Hard drive for Windows XP MCE and applications and 1 200GB hard drive for recorded shows only. I am using an Hauppage 500MCE for capture and an ATI 9800 Pro 128Mb video card for output. I'm running BM 1.1 and BTV4 and I use the Cyberlink PowerDVD 6 A/V decoders in both.
