BTV 4 does not read Divx 6 format
Does anyone know if it matters which version of Divx you use? I just downloladed the new ver. 6 and compressed a show, but neither BTV 4 nor my Hauppauge MediaMVP even see the file. I guess its Divx 4 that BTV is only good with so I'll try finding that and installing it. I wonder if this will be supported soon?

If you rename the file to an .avi (from a .divx) BTV plays it fine. You need to submit a tech support request asking for them to support it (I already did).

i've renamed a few .divx to .avi they then became unplayable. .divx extention support is a must! till then I guess some of my media just wont work. Where can we go to get this fix done?

Generically speaking, changing an extension won't make a file unplayable. The real information about the video and audio stream types are inside the file itself, not in the extension (especially important since both .divx and .avi are really container formats that can hold multiple combinations of video and audio codecs).
BeyondTV will recognize and play a DivX 6 converted file just fine, once the extension has been changed.

DivX 6 files work fine here as well if they are .avi extensions. I think btv 4.6 is even showsqueezing to DivX 6 natively now?
