Aspect Ratio not changing

I just recently started using the nvidia decoder and some "weirdness" is happening now. If I selected 3d acceleration mode, I can make my aspect ratio 16:9/stretch/... all those fun things for widescreen. The problem is that the colors in 3d mode aren't very good. Switching to overlay mode makes the coloring perfect, but now switching to 16:9 doesnt change the size from 4:3/default/... Letterbox changes it, but then you lose picture content on the top and bottom.

No matter what decoder I use, overlay doesnt work, yet looks good and 3d works but looks bad.

The only other thing I changed was to use the quartz.dll that is floating around here on the forum.

Any ideas? I really like the PQ right now and the only thing left is widescreen support.

Ok, well I apparently lied
I am still getting used to how some settings change immediately and others, such as decoder, you must go "back" and cannot go directly to the guide after changing.

Anyway, it appears that the new Nvidia Purevideo Decoder only supports 16:9 in 3d mode and not in overlay. Still not sure why though.

if you want to use the custom stretch options in btv in overlay mode yo uhave to open the pureview options applet and set the video mode to anamorphic (top left option bottom one) or something, dont remember the exact name

Ok, that sounds reasonable, if only I had that applet ...
I just downloaded the trial version and it only comes with a Unlock/Buy link, no programs as far as I can tell to modify it.

I hate buying anything before I know if it will work so I don't know if I will continue to use it.

its running as an icon in the system tray while the decoder is in use should be a greenish nvidia logo just double click it while your playing back a video (might need to alt+enter to force btv into a window)
