Audio volume problem since upgrade to BTV4

I dunno if anybody else has experienced this but it's been annoying ...

I recently upgraded from BTV 3.7.5 (? the last BTV3 release anyways) to BTV4.0 and after the upgrade I noticed a major audio level problem. Since the upgrade the audio volume of the recording program (or even live TV) is much lower than before, so I had to turn up the TV volume to compensate (from 40% to 60%!). But when I turn up the TV volume the problem is now all the button sounds (the clicks when I hit pause /play or advance or rew buttons) are VERY loud. Worse, when I change my TV's source from HTPC to say, TV or movie I always get a jolt in volume.

I've already checked and my audio setting for playback is 2 Ch instead of 5.1 or SPDIF. This problem happens to not just 1 channel but every channel. I never had this problem before with BTV3.

Other than this audio level problem, I also found that ...

- BTV4 is a MUCH bigger CPU hog than BTV 3
- And because of that, I get frozen frames and 'hiccups' during playback A LOT more in BTV4 than BTV3
- the DivX showsqueeze doesn't seem to provide any advantage over the old WMV compression, in neither size or quality
- there's been no improvement in video quality or audio quality from the upgrade

All in all I upgraded from BTV3 to BTV4 with some expectations and I'm not sure Snapstream has made my $29 worthwhile with the upgrade.

I'll waiting for other improvements in future BTV4 releases, but if someone can help me with the audio volume problem I mentioned above it'll be much appreciated.
