Stephane's Web Program Guide wish list

Stephane's web-based program guide (http://www.lmgestion.net/@en-us/4/22/22/article.asp) is an amazing piece of work. I've now switched to using it to record shows instead of using snapstream.net. The biggest benefit is that I can tell immediately when a recording has been accepted. The UI is also more pleasant in my opinion.

Here are a few things I wish will get added:

1. Clicking on a channel icon in the guide grid will show all the shows for that particular channel. The old web guide had this and I used to click on my favorite channels (Discovery, HBO, etc) and go through the list clicking what I want recorded.

2. The "Title Episode title Description Kind MPAA Rating" checkboxes when searching a program will be fixed. Normally, if a field is ticked that means results will be returned if there is a match in that field. But the way it works now is that if you click more than one field, the search string has to exist in ALL ticked fields. Not particularly useful in my opinion. What I'd like to do is to search for "formula 1" and return results where any field contains the string.

3. It would be way cool if the application uses AJAX. AJAX allows interactivity without post-backs (browser reload). So when you click on a show to record, it can display the red "record" button without refreshing the whole screen.

I've recently started using this software and also like it a lot. I'd like to see some form of "intelligent recording" which automatically records shows similar to the ones I like.

Re: Stephane's Web Program Guide wish list

Hello Bryan,

All the features you wish are already on my todo list, as well as : managing job priorities and intelligent recordings. I'm very busy at the moment (work and building my new HTPC: I've all sorts of trouble with a P5WD2 Premium mobo, basically when this mobo want to boot, everything is fine but it didn't alway POST successfully , as I'm using RAID5 I'm having a lot of fun destroying the logical volume each time I open the case to change something, and I must fix it quickly to avoid TV riots in the house )

I already use AJAX for moving videos file. I don't know if I will use it for the program grid.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: Stephane's Web Program Guide wish list

Hi Stéphane,

Thanks for the update!

I think anyone who is using Snapstream.net to make recordings should consider using this instead. It is SO much better to immediately know if a recording has been successfully scheduled. Previously I'd have to log on to Snapstream.net, select the shows to record, then log on to my BeyondTV, force a remote recordings download, check for conflicts, and if there is a conflict, repeat the whole process.

Man that was a pain.

Another wish list item: the ability to choose a recording quality in the Recording Properties pop-up page.
