yes, but i think this will record to dvix through the hardware encoder. as of now it records in mpeg2 and btv showsqeezes to dvix .and lets face the dvix from btv4 has some issues(file size and audio)

Re: haupappe dvix plugin **new**

There are some hardware divx cards which snapstream works and records straight to divx.

I looked at the link again and not really clear. But looks like it might just take MPG2 and coverts to another format

Includes a stand alone transcoder, so you can take previously recorded TV shows in an MPEG format, and turn them into a mobile video format.

This is transcoding software as the cards they listed are all of Hauppauge's MPEG2 encoding cards.

Re: haupappe dvix plugin **new**

I called them, and it software encodes. So you have 2 scenarios:

1) You already have a file (recorded before mpg2) and you want make a different file format (like showsqeeze).

2) you can use their schelduler and it will record to that format (It taking the MPG2 stream and software encoding to the other format. you also have the option to to keep the MPeg2 file.

Also, when you do the direct to DVD it save in a dvd compatible format.
