Settings Hierarchies (Video/Audio decoders, recording settings)
I've been having trouble with watching live TV due to constant stuttering. I was wondering what a list of settings from most hardware taxing to easiest on the system might be. What seems to be the best video decoder in terms of performance and then in terms of quality? What about recording? What are the advantages of mpeg2, divx, etc.? Can anyone help? Maybe we can get a sticky out of this, it seems like an important part of btv and would considerably help all the people who aren't intimately acquainted with video compression (like myself). Thanks!
