BTV4: Browse by Category, what do u think?

I think there are TOO MANY Categories... I'd say Sport and Movies make sense... but the rest = too many too useless.

Another comment, for Movies, i think it should show the YEAR or Rating like other online guide does.... Just a short description doesn't mean much. It'd be super nice if it can grab the cover & rating from site like Yahoo Movies~!

does SS.net has the year & raiting field already?
if somehow those can be shown on BTV, it'd be GREAT!

WAF for me is the opposite - she likes the additional categories and the ability for her to search for cooking shows under recreation.. hard to design for everyone I spose!

I think its a great concept to be worked on a little more. I think they maybe need to add some sub categories or include the same show on muliple channels together in the search and then if you want you can go one level deeper. Just as an example I checked it out and the only thing I could think to check was childrens - then animated and maybe I selected one more category in there but it still produce lots of results because it showed Aurther on every channel it was one. I never made it past through the B's in the alphabetical search

I don't think there is anything wrong with the current setup to browse by category, I just don't think I will use it much where it is located within BeyondTV. I would have liked colour coded boxes in the Program Guide and the ability to filter the guide so only the category that I'm interested in shows up (ie. only movies show up in the guide while the rest of the stuff is missing). This is a step forward though.

I think the initial implementation is pretty good. The big thing that I think it needs is the ability to further filter on date. I would like to be able to look for shows in a category that are on today, tomorrow, this week as well as the entire date range of the guide.
