BTV4 with MediaMVP?
I just bought a MediaMVP last month, and LiveTV with BTV v3.7.4 just started working this week (see MVPBTV v2.5, http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.p...orum_id=369791).
Anybody tried MVPBTV with BTV4 yet? My setup is working well, and if it ain't broke... |

Re: BTV4 with MediaMVP?
I can say everything works OK except I can't tell about LIVETV. The author said this weekend or early next week they will have a version that is fully compatible with BTV4 except for HD stuff. The MVP will never display HD, it does not have the hardware to do it.
Thanks Mike

Re: BTV4 with MediaMVP?
According to this message in the MVPBTV forum:
http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3450640 All you need is the "Guide.html" file updated to get MVPBTV to work with BTV4. You can get the new file from the CVS here: http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/mvpbtv/BTV35/ So I'm going to download BTV4 and give it a go. I'll report back my results, I'm really hoping that LiveTV to the MediaMVP stays functional! |

Re: BTV4 with MediaMVP?
I tried that new guide.html about a week ago and it worked fine for me to watch liveTV in BTV. Only problem is that it only works once and then I have to power cycle the MVP. If I try to use LiveTV after it has worked once it just says that it is preparing livetv and then that message disappears and nothing happens. I do get control back of the MVP and everything else works in it fine except liveTV which again requires me to power cycle the MVP for it to work again.

Re: BTV4 with MediaMVP?
Yeah, I had problems when I tried the file from the CVS to. But then I tried another trick: I took the "playLiveTV" function from the new Guide.html and pasted it into my old file, and lo-and-behold it works! I've attached the file.
I've had it running for 24hrs now, no hickups or reboots at all. You still go back to the guide to select the LiveTV channel you want to watch (no up/down channel function), but that's a feature request not a bug. One more tip, nothing to do with BTV4, but check out this thread on MVP network tweaks. It made my unit go from extremely sluggish to as good as my BTVLink machine! http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/T...PNetworkTweaks http://forums.gbpvr.com/showthread.p...3318#post53318 |

Re: BTV4 with MediaMVP?
For the network tweaks, you have to read through the whole thread (all six pages) and pull tips from individual posts. I've copied-n-pasted a bunch of them below, hope this helps. Usual disclaimers apply (if you mess with the registry, your computer will explode).
1. Set your NIC to 100 Full Duplex not auto sense. 2. enable NIC onboard processor: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Tcpip\Parameters] "DisableTaskOffload"=dword:00000000 3.
