Multiple BTV Server question

I currently have a single BTV server with 3 Tuners. I am adding another pc to a different location of my house inorder to share/view the recordings I currently do. I was planning on buying BTV Link for this but figured if I am going through the process of adding another pc I might as well just get another license and set this system up with the ability to record as well. In any case, my question is regarding remote management/recordings.

1. Is there the ability to view/manage both systems from a single web interface or do you need to address each both individually?

2. Regarding Remote recordings. Can I use the same account I currently have setup on Snapstream.net and just select which system I want the recording to go to? Does snapstream.net even provide that option.

Thanks

You need to address each individually. One stays 8129 and you need to change the other to a different port. I use 8128

You have to have two different ss.net accounts

Re: Multiple BTV Server question

1) You'll have to manage both individually.

2) Each key will have it's own account, which means if you wanted to have two different lineups and remote recording options you would doing it this way. SS.Net does not provide for multiple systems on the same login.

Re: Multiple BTV Server question

Thanks guys. This is what I figured. I had hoped BTV would be smart enough to recognize the multiple installs and communicate with each other, as well as the Snapstream account. I believe Tivo is knowledgeable of the other setups and I'm pretty confident their web access allows you to decide which recorder you want to schedule the show for. Oh, well I guess maybe in the next release.

Re: Multiple BTV Server question

They don't have to have different ports, though. 8129 is fine. The computers will have different names anyway.

They do if you want to access them remotely.

Re: Multiple BTV Server question

Ah, I was thinking remotely inside the house. You're meaning remotely outside the house. Then yes, of course, they need different ports and the ports have to be forwarded properly in your router.

Oops.
