decreasing duplicate recordings - parameter to play with?

In the file settings.xml, there is a parameter

<Name>RecentRecsDays</Name>
<Value>30</Value>

I am guessing that this means that BTV keeps track of the last 30 days of recent recordings and uses that to avoid re-recording programs that were
recently recorded (sounds logical, right).

If so, has anyone tried changing this value to something larger to eliminate unneeded recordings?

for example, i am getting lots of dupes of Monk that I recorded a month or 2 ago.

I haven't tried it, but I'm pretty sure that I have seen posts from others that have.

Re: decreasing duplicate recordings - parameter to play with?

I have been testing this . The database could get to big if the number of days is to high. I recommend reasonable settings for the recentdays settings. I think 3X365 is long enough. The files will be 109.5 times larger. A 209% longer delay ? I have not seen any delays yet with the recorder but the recorder will have a little more delay scanning recent recordings.
