Scientific Atlanta Control Via USB - It Works!
Has anyone built a device to control Scientific Atlanta Digital Cable Set Top Boxes?
I just did a quick test with a Cherry USB Keyboard plugged into the front USB port, it worked great! Only the Numeric Keypad worked however and the arrow keys. Using the Numeric Keypad you could simply enter the channel number and press enter and voila! It would tune to that channel. Using the arrow keys, advance on the front of the unit until you see what channel you need and press enter. --- So basically all we need is something that will interface with the guts of a USB keyboard (Similar to what the MAME Cabinet guys are doing). Has anyone built one and hacked the usbirt driver or something similar? |
