Preview Window in Guide

I am a new user to Beyond TV, and also to Sage Tv.

I am curious, why is there no TV preview window in the Beyond TV guide?

SageTV inlcudes this preview window of live tv in the guide and in menus.

There haev been over 40 views of my post, and still no one has answered my question.

Why?

How can you get a live tv preview window in the BTV guide? Sage TV has this feature, as well as does my Comcast Cable Box, and my Dish Network receiver.

How do we get this into BTV?

All you have to do is learn how to program and write a plugin for that feature!!!

Why?

You might realize that most of the people who visit this forum don't work for Snapstream and are unable to tell you why they decided to design it that way. I agree it's a poor design decision given that their competition has the feature. Maybe in the upcoming BTV 4.0. We'll see...

In 3D mode the EPG is laid over the top of the TV picture if you access it while watching TV. But not everyone can get 3D mode working nicely, including me! I think this is similar to sagetv?

Why not? In my opinion this is a great way for you to find out what your users actually want. It's also a great way for you to see what your competitors have that are drawing the eyeballs of the users here.

I can understand why you don't want "thinly veiled ads" for your competitors products. I can also see why you don't want a whole host of flame wars between product x and BTV. But please don't be so heavy handed that users can't post about features they see in other products they'd like to see in BTV. Remember that we've bought your products and already support SnapStream.

It's actually pretty simple if you follow the forum rule:

7) No Competitor Products - The goal of our forums is to provide a place where our customers and the company can interact in an open, friendly and constructive environment. While we appreciate all feedback from our customers, in our experience posts relating to competing products have been devolving into thinly veiled advertising or heated arguments and generally are not constructive or friendly.
Therefore, posts mentioning a competitor's product or posts linking to sites related to competitor's products are deemed inappropriate and will be moderated without any notice.

Please remember that you are always welcome to bring up individual features or suggestions that you find attractive in the context of making SnapStream's products better.

Just describe it up as a suggestion/feature that you want incorporated.
