3.7.2 hiding file while recording--please fix!

While recording shows, I like to watch them on my mediaMVP which gives
me something close to live TV distributed around the house.

After installing 3.7.2 today, I found that my mediaMVP could not
see the show I was recording this evening.
Checking at the PC, I found that the file properties were set to
'read only' and 'hidden'. When I manually removed the 'hidden' property,
the file showed up OK at the mediaMVP. Before, 3.7.2, the recorded files
were not 'hidden'.

PLEASE remove the 'hidden' status on these files or I will have lost
my ability to watch shows while they are recording.
This is a big step backwards for me.......otherwise, 3.7.2 upgrade
seems fine.

Re: 3.7.2 hiding file while recording--please fix!

do you have 'show hidden files' turned on in the os? not sure if that'll help or not, but if not, it should also be possible to have the mediamvp software tweaked to include hidden files when it scans? (it is open source innit?)

Re: 3.7.2 hiding file while recording--please fix!

yes, the XP OS is showing hidden files...i had to edit the file
properties to remove the 'hidden' property.

the 'read only' property makes sense since BTV doesn't
want any other process messing with the file that being
recorded but 'hidden' seems a little extreme to me

I'm pretty sure that I saw a post in the MediaMVP thread stating that they needed to make a modification for these files

Re: 3.7.2 hiding file while recording--please fix!

here's part of a potential solution.....
i can manually fix the hidden mpg file problem with
'unhidestuff.bat' that contains the following:

d:
cd media
cd shows
attrib -H *.mpg
exit

this removes the hidden attribute from all 'mpg' files
in d:/media/shows/ where i keep my recordings.

anyone know how to cause this file to be executed at the beginning
of each BTV recording?
a simple add-on to trigger this would let the mediaMVP see the files
again while they are being recorded.
