Best way to connect PC to TV?

Hi;

I'm not new to PCs, but am a bit new to A/V stuff. I just ordered the Asus 6600 128 MB video card, which has DVI and S-Video out, and was wondering what the best way to hook it up to my tv is (46" Sony widescreen). I understand taht composite gives you the best video quality (right?); is there a DVI to composite adapter available? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I have a 34 Sony Wide and have it hooked up DVI. Does your Sony have a DVI input? That's the way I would go. To answer your question check this out.

My bedroom display has HDMI with no DVI.

I was planning on using the component for DVD so for a PVR should it be a DVI to HDMI cable in my case?

Thanks for sharing that link!

No problem! Looks like that same company has that adapter too. Personally I haven't tried it. Here is another link, male or female genders http://www.cyberguys.com/templates/s...ch=1ca02&child=

Re: Best way to connect PC to TV?

Just a quick note. "Composite" is the worst of all video modes. It's noisy, lossy, and only has a 240 line resolution. The qualities go (from worst to best):

Composite
S-Video
Component ...

I think you may have meant "Component" not composite.

Not a problem. Using a DVI to component converter would be a very good way to go if your TV has component input. You should get a great picture.
