BeyondTV 3.72 released

It looks like BeyondTV 3.72 and BeyondTV Link 3.72 have been released. They are available on their respective download pages. Has anyone tried it yet?

Nice to see it's being worked on still. I'll "schedule" some time between recordings to take a system image snapshot and then install it. We'll see what happens.

It has been working fine the latest 3.72 . I wonder what build number is released . In the beta all my bugs were fixed . I did not have long to test the last RC .

I'd agree with BenH - the beta series were excellent, and it looks like the RC became the final release with little change. This is a substantial set of updates/fixes!

Well, I can't record anything at all, BTV loops with the restarting recording over and over again. DOesn't seem to stop, I have to manually stop the recording. I am using the beta driver to avoid the stuttering recordings though. I'll update the driver to the latest version - 23172 - and see if that does anything. If not then I'm reverting back to my disk image with 3.5.3. At leat that version with the beta driver didn't record corrupted mpeg streams and worked resonably well.

Well, had to revert back to 3.5.3. The latest beta drivers caused the dreaded zoom issue in addition to the looping of recordings, yay I have over 600 0 meg files to clean out now.

This sucks, the beta hauppauge drivers and 3.5.3 fix the suttering mpeg problem (Hauppauge even has release notes that mention that) and the no data issue (which SS "fixed" by just doing a restart). I don't entirely blame Snapstream. I do place a lot of the blame with Hauppauge because I bet that a lof the problems are with their crappy drivers. However, I don't hear about other PVR software vendors facing the same issues as stuttering mpegs or, as in my current case being able to record TV but not actually watch it live, so there is some issues with the software itself still.

I thank SS for trying but I'm starting to get fed up. I might actually invest the time in building a mythtv box... maybe I'll just do a full rebuild on this one and see if that solves anything... it didn't last time. Thank god for disk images...

Well I got catalyst 5.6 installed with BTV 3.72, but now Nvidia dvd decoder doesnt work anymore. Anyone else have this happen? Using the ATI/Cyberlink decoder for now.

I upgraded to 5.6 Cat . I did a upgrade to BTV the same time . Then I could click on the Nvidia icon and it not crash BTV playing mpeg2 .

I went to play a dvd and it did not play . I played it with Nerors DVd and Power DVD 5 and both of those worked . So it seems a Nvidia issue . I use Nvidia 2.22 decoder .

I did not have time to try reinstalling Nvidia DVD or going back to older CAT drivers. I was hopeing to get some better DOS compatiblity in the new Cat drivers but there was no fixes .

I've been using the 23172 drivers during the beta without an issue, as a matter of fact I no longer get 0 meg restarts or stutering recordings. I upgraded to the 168 and then the 172 drivers while still using 3.5.3. I would have contiuned to use the 168 drivers but I had the same issue you did with watching live TV and the 172 beta drivers seemed to fix that. I haven't installed the final release of 3.7.2 yet and am still running RC2, but if I have problems with it I'll let you know.

You got the liveTV problem fixed using 3.5.3 and the 172 beta drivers? Nice! I'll have to give that a shot. This weekend when I have a bit more time I'm going to try donig a fresh install (after taking a disk image first) and install 3.7.2 along with the 172 beta drivers. I may also try 3.7.2 with the non beta drivers. (Now here's a question, SS has the 23053 drivers on their site as the "official" drivers to use. Hauppauge has CD 2.5 out which contains the 23074 drivers. Which is "officially" released?) Anyway, we'll see what happens.

I don't understand Hauppage's driver naming convention. I am using the driver set from the Hauppage web site:

PVR INF files: pvr150250350_inf.zip
WinTV-PVR Update: PVR250_22_23070.exe

So, my question is this:

What *other* drivers are you talking about, and where do you get them? Are they newer? Whats better about them? I ask because I have three PVR-250s in my machine, and they mostly work well together but not quite all the time (and I do get short stutters while watching live tv).

Hmm, I went over to that site and I do see download links for 168 and 172 drivers, but its in the PVR-150MCE/250-MCE section. I'm using regular old PVR-250s (not MCE at all). Do these drivers work for all Hauppauge cards, or am I stuck with the drivers from the Hauppauge web site?

Well, I just upgraded to 3.72 and now my program data won't download. I guess you can tell the pioneers by the arrows in their backs.
