unavailable in program guide
Hello
In the past week or so, a number of shows have been showing up in the guide as "unavailable". This issue didn't affect my recording until today. My GF is pissed. For instance, tonight at 9pm (CDT) on A&E is a show "Family Forensics", it shows on the Yahoo TV guide, but not on the Snapstream guide via the Viewscape and the Snapstream.net service. I have manually download the guide, manually downloaded the full guide (from the web admin) and restarted the computer and repeated the above steps. Still no complete guide. Any ideas? TIA, Jerry

Glad to see I'm not the only one. I noticed today that I only had guide data thru the 9th, so I did a manual download. When back and checked later, and I've recieved the data, but the guide data for the channels I record most is unavailable after the 9th. A movie showed up on the 16th, but most of the channels like cbs, nbc, abc, comedy central, usa, scifi are showing all the shows as unavailable.

I am having this same problem. has anyone sent in a support ticket on this yet? if so, did they say when they expect the guide to be fixed? I hope soon, BTV failed to record "Stella" tonight because of this issue but that repeats a lot so I'm not too sad but my scheduled recordings only go up to the 10th and that is fast approaching.
I will put in a ticket of my own, but I just wanted to check and see if anyone else had gotten a response already first. thanks |

The problem has been fixed. If you logon to www.snapstream.net, there might still be channels missing. This will be fixed when the dataload happens tomorrow morning. The incremental updates will also be fixed tomorrow. In the meantime, to get guide data, do a manual full update. Let me know if it works.

I will shed some light on why you received unavailables for ALL data. Between the hours of 7AM - 8AM Central time, our databases replicate data from the staging tables to the live tables. While this replication is taking place, the live tables drop all data to replace with new data. If you do a guide update during this time, there is no data available to download, but BTV thinks a guide update was successful and purges the existing data to load the new data. The new data in this case is nothing. This issue has been bugged. And we are going to be fixing it.

Amit,
What does this mean with respect to the "Unavailable" problem mentioned earlier in this post? Does the bug fix have to do with that or with not being able to get the EPG data consistently? Thanks! |
