Feature Requests for BTV, BTV Link, and BM

Just a few thoughts from a user with a home network of Snapstream products procrastinating his own bugfixes. In short, it would be nice if media distribution and software PLC integration was on Snapstream's agenda.

Here are some thoughts:

1) BM and BTV should be integrated/codified as a single product. Licensing would enable/disable features within this monolithic 'media solution'.

2) BM content should be accessible in the BTV Link clients.

3) In multiple BTV Server environments, recording information should be synchronized across all BTV Server instances to enable 'console viewing' of all available content.

4) Given item 3, BTV Link clients should be able to query and merge content, and connect transparently to the BTV server hosting the content. As an added bonus, multiple BTV servers with content accessible on shared storage could load balance the task.

5) Complete API for 2 way communication with PLC software to query and drive BTV.

6) And finally ... TIME SYNCHRONIZATION!

In any case, Snapstream has made huge strides in features and stability in such a short time. I can't wait to see what's up next.

#3 and most of #4 works for me today. Just have to set up the folders correctly.

You're right -- it can be done quite easily, but the load balancing is more what I'm getting at. It's a shame the client needs to know the load ahead of time before connecting to a less loaded BTV server.
