Pausing Live TV Video/Audio sync problem

Greetings all,

I'm a newbie in regards to BTV and have been scouring "search" for a solution to my problem to no avail.

When "pausing" live TV, the video pauses but the audio continues on, hence, upon unpausing the video/audio is out of sync. Is there a way to get the audio back to the point when live TV was paused and continue from there. I'm used to a PVR connected directly to a TV - when you pause live TV, it pauses both the video AND audio together.

I have a P4 3.2 Intel, hyper thread processor with 1 Gig 3200 DDR RAM, ATI 9600 256 meg video card. I'm hoping there is a solution and hope you can understand my explanation of my problem.

TIA,

Ray

Re: Pausing Live TV Video/Audio sync problem

This is an old post and I have been looking for a solution for this as well.

I am using an old ati tv wonder pro. I know there are better ones out there, and I will eventually scrounge the cash to get them. For now I wanted something I could use while my wife is watching shows I would prefer not to watch :P

I have tried any number of things to get this to work and oddly enough I gave up on this tuner long ago when I couldn't get it to work even with all the drivers from ati. I also got tired of calling canada for tech support. So at this stage it will not work with the ATI tuner software but does work with BTV. The video works great, and audio works, Video pauses but audio does not, which in reality wouldn't be a huge problem except that BTV seems to cache a few seconds of video (and audio) but since the audio doesn't pause it starts out out of sync. The video and audio aren't out of sync when doing the setup and showing video+audio as a test, but does shift when viewing live tv.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oddly enough the problem was the fact that I was using the aux in instead of mic in. After switching to mic in the sync problem went away as well as the pause problem. This still leaves the issue of why can't I use my aux in?
